thank you for holding my string

  • December 26, 2017

The other day I was watching a re-run of the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. One of my favourite bands, Pearl Jam, was being inducted. During their acceptance speech, the lead singer, Eddie Vedder said something that resonated; “A kite can’t fly without someone holding firmly onto the string. If it flies too high, you really have to trust the person hanging on to reel you back in.”

I am nothing without the people who hold my string with a firm grasp; my parents and in-laws, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Tamar, Jonah and Jamie who put up with my work schedule and countless volunteer hours. And those who support Chef Jordan Wagman and Clean (your) Soul Food, growing my brand and overseeing my social media and online presence; Rebecca and Ian.

Lastly, I write blogs, create recipes and share personal stories, including my struggles and successes in an attempt to demonstrate that we are all alike. If I can improve my health and heal my Psoriasis through diet, so can you.

So, I want to say thank you. Thank you for your constant support. Thank you for reading my blog and for trying all of my recipes. Thank you for making 2017 a year I will always remember.

Thank you for holding my string.

I wish you and your family a very happy and healthy New Year.

In good health,
Chef Jordan Wagman
